Among the most highly prized of all mushrooms, Morel Mushrooms look and taste unlike any other variety. They have tall, peaked, honeycombed caps, and are completely hollow. Their earthy, buttery, faintly smoky flavor is often thought to intensify with drying.

Suggested Use:
    • Rich, earthy­buttery taste pairs beautifully with cream or white wine sauces
    • Pair with grilled and roasted meat, poultry and seafood
    • Toss with pasta or serve sautéed over polenta for a rustic, earthy vegetarian main dish
    • Add to beef, chicken or seafood stew in the last 15 minutes of simmering to release their rich flavor
    • Strain and save the soaking liquid from rehydrating and use it to add concentrated flavor to the final dish

Basic Preparation:
Rinse well under cold running water to remove any possible debris, as it can become lodged inside the honeycomb­like structure. To rehydrate, place desired amount in a heatproof bowl and cover with boiling water. Soak until softened, typically 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to help dislodge any trapped debris. Remove from water, and examine a second time before using.
